Dear Stakeholders of Abington Games,
I'm back from GenCon and I had a blast! With Stu's help, we developed a competitive Confrontation Age of Rag'narok army that I played in Nationals. It was devastating, and I won the Nationals Championship. The swag will be in the store soon for you all to see and inspire you to play more Confrontation. Stu and Kellen made me promise not to use that army in the store for any reason, and I will keep that promise.
Monsterpocalypse was the hit of GenCon - they sold out of starters a day before the convention was over. People were playing this day and night. The lines were too long for me to get a demo, but I heard great things. Stu has some pieces and is willing to show people how it goes. I think you'll enjoy it.
Our good friends Stu and Melinda managed to get selected for the limited exposure to World of Warcraft Miniatures! Both of them!! So they have all their pieces well in advance of release and Melinda is enthusiastic about showing people how this game works. Both of them told me that they felt this is a great game (Stuart compared it to the feeling of the early days of Mage Knight). It will be a while before we can sell it, but when you see the quality of these pieces and the game play, I think you'll be convinced that UDE did a bang up job on this one!
In the "hard core" painted miniatures world, WarMachine and Hordes were the most popular. The WarMachine tournament must have had 50-100 people playing in it - without question the largest non-collectible miniatures tournament of this gigantic convention.
Red November, the board game from Fantasy Flight sold out early, as did Battlestar Gallactica. Now I usually don't care for "branded" board games, but Battlestar was a big hit. Again I didn't get to play it, but I spoke to people who did and they were quite pleased.
